Serious gaming in care

Serious gaming in healthcare is not to innovative for the elderly of too hard for people with a mental or physical impairment. It will need some getting used to, but then everybody loves it. Even for the elderly moving is extremely important for their health. A person who exercises enough will stay fit longer, has a smaller chance of getting a chronic disease, and is also mentally healthier. There are special exergames designed for the elderly, even for those with dementia. The serious games ensure exercises, but also help to keep track of the coordination skills and even have rehabilitation exercises. Studies show that exergames have a positive effect on lowering the risk of falling and boost the feeling of wellbeing of the elderly. Interactive, visual and audio feedback will motivate them.

Make moving fun and accessible!

For care groups (social motoric problems, mentally and physically impaired) the games can be offered at a suitable level for the target group.

The exergames can also be used for rehabilitation. Pain of the contestant can be lowered by a virtual reality game. This will bring back the focus to the game instead of the injury.

What our clients say

“The collaboration between ZuidZorg Extra, Friends of the Home Care and Embedded Fitness in the program FIEF (Fit, Interactive, Energetic, Fun) is totally unique! It is part of an overall concept for elderly. The activity starts with coffee and a social talk, then exercise in the interactive gym and it ends with a healthy lunch. In an innovative, inspiring and motivating way”.
Hubert Cornelis, Social innovator ZuidZorg Tools

“In Helmond lives a group of young people with mild mental disabilities accompanied by ORO. Especially this target group has sometimes problems with spending their time meaningfully
“We looked at how we could entice these young people to participate in meaningful and enjoyable activities. We were convinced, It had to be something with gaming and sports. We are very pleased with this Fit game space”.

Anja Korsten, director ORO.

Interactive movement in healthcare

There are several ways to integrate interactive movement into health care. Do you want an interactive design in your care location? We help and advise you to make the right choice of serious games for health care. It is very important to know in which way you want to use the games. We make a difference in spaces for elderly, for physiotherapy or for people with a mental or physical disability. Do caregivers need to work with them or a physiotherapist who wants to practice one particular skill. Both ask for a different kind of exergame, a different installation and implementation.

Do you want more insight into the equipment, or do you want to test the serious games first, then you can request a demo-setup. You can organize an exercise afternoon for the different types of people who will be working with them, we will take care of the equipment and assistance. This way you have got the time to check out all the games and decide which one will fit your care institution best.
